Death Angel for Cyst

The small spot grew fast. It took only 3 months for the spot to turn into a quail egg-sized lump. From a doctor's diagnose, Yati Tuti Sumiyati had suffered from breast cyst. In the middle of confusion, Yati's husband, Dikdik tasdik, suggested her to consume gamat and spirulina. Yati started to consume them in December 2007. She had 1 spoonful of sea cucumber extract and 10 tablets of spirulina for 3 times a day. Three months afterwards, the lump on her breast turned to red and brew bigger. A week after the lump broke open. Yati also smeared gamat onto the wound as a result of the broken open lump. The wound got dry in 30 days.

Yun Guang Tong, a researcher of Materia Media Shanghai, stated that sea cucumber is effective to overcome cyst as it contains filinopsida A. Filipnosida A helps to prevent the forming of new blood vessels on cancer or tumor cell. Spirulina, as a matter of fact, also has the same efficacy. Prof Zaiton Hassan, a researcher of Food Science Department of Malaysia Putra University conveyed that sea cucumber contains a high eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid. Accordingly, consuming sea cucumber will enhance the restoration of damaged cells. In addition, It also contains collagen that help to enhance Yati's wound recovery. Having had a leukemia verdict 4 years ago, Fransisca Gunawan, a 10 year-old girl, hesitantly has to stay only in a 20 m² width sterile room hitherto. She had followed her doctor's advise to take chemotherapy. Instead of gaining significant recovery, her liver and body became swollen up. In April 2007, Merlin Kusmiyati, a relative of Swarnam who is Fransisca's uncle, advised her to consume the extract of cryptomonadales Chlorella sorokiniana which is rich in active compound, such as phycocyanin, CGF or chlorella growth factor, and Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptors (PPARs). All of those compounds are beneficial for body immunity system.

The first progress of Sisca's health appeared 60 days after she had consumed the cryptomonadales extract in which her face started to be bright again in addition to the increasing of hemoglobin level in her blood. A research result of dr Ih-Jen Su proved that phycocyanin in cryptomonadales functions as antivirus and effective to prevent cancer attack by way of apoptosis or inducing cancer cells to commit suicide. Seedless Tomatoes, High Productivity

These two issues: low productivity of tomatoes in lowland and problem in discarding tomatoes seeds for ketchup producers can be overcome with one innovation. Dr Saptowo Pardal, a researcher of Indonesian Center for Agricultural Biotechnology and Genetic Resources Research and Development (BB Biogen) who is also an Agronomist alumni of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), assembled high productivity seedless tomatoes line to be grown in lowland. He inserted gen IAAM-DefH9 inside tomatoes cotyledon. IAAM is a gen of bacteria Pseudomonas cerivisiae that promotes parthenocarpy alias the induced production process of fruit without pollination and fertilization. Accordingly, seedless fruit are formed. Def H9 is a promoter gen that is taken from snapdragon Anthirrinum majus. (Sardi Duryatmo)

Comparing the Weight of Jumbo Mango Varieties


Tryman Sutandya's, a mango collector in Blitar, West Java, was anxious in waiting for the arrival of Mahathir, a variety of mango from Kinabalu, Malaysia. Mahathir is a variety of jumbo mango weighing up to 2,75 kg with yellow thick juicy flesh and fine fiber. It tastes sweet and somewhat sour.

Jumbo size mango can also be found in Indonesia, to be precisely in North West Alor Subdistrict. It is called Alor variety, a type of unripe harvested mango. The fruit is of coconut-fruit size, weighing 1 kg each. The fruit tastes best while still unripe. When it is ripe, it will also taste sweet, but unfortunately the flesh is extremely sloppy and fibrous. The best Alor variety can only be found in North West Alor where the soil texture is dominant in sandy dust or dusty sand which is perfect for the growth of Alor variety.

Besides mahathir, another imported variety is pedro which is native to Mexico. Pedro also has giant fruit. For that reason, dr Kerry R Kartosen SpOG grows pedro. Pedro variety has round fruit that weighs 1,3 kg at maximum. The skin is attracting with red tint on the fruit basal.

Ricky Hadimulya, a fruit collector in Bogor, also imported a variety of jumbo mango, nam dok mai man, from Thailand to be grown in Bogor. Nam dok mai man has a bigger figure than nam dok mai-a foregoing jumbo variety-and weighs up to 1,2 kg. Unfortunately, the taste is slightly sour and the flesh is too juicy. Perhaps the reason is that it is grown in Bogor of which rainfall is high. Accordingly, nam dok mai man is now being grown in Karawang, a relatively dry area.

Back to overseas, in Thailand there is cingnangwah, a type of unripe harvested mango that tastes sweet and crunchy though still unripe. The weight may reach 950 g. When the fruit is ripe, the flesh will be orange and the taste will be mixed with sour taste but yet sweeter than pedro. (Imam Wiguna/ Reporter: Tri Susanti)
